Are the materials you use sustainable?

Yes, the cotton fabric used is organically grown without any use of pesticides and is GOTS certified. The dyes that are printed onto the fabrics are extracted from roots, fruits peels, leaves, nuts and vegetables.

Why do you use natural dyes?

The process of traditional hand block printing Kalamkari (a south Indian textile craft) authentically used the use of only natural dyes. We have been fortunate to locate and work with the only third-generation artisanal unit in the world that still continues to practice the craft in its most indigenous way. Natural dyes are arguably, also the best solution to chemical dyes which are harmful to the environment.

Is there a way of customising a piece in a print that I like?

How are you helping in the revival of traditional Kalamkari?

Kalamkari is native to South India and has been practised by artisan families for centuries. The advent of screen printing has adversely affected the livelihood of these artisans. By forging a cooperative relationship with the only third-generation Kalamkari unit in the world, we are doing our part of promoting and safeguarding this art form that we are so proud of.

Does the fabric shrink after the first wash?

No, all the pieces are made from pre-washed fabrics and are not prone to further shrinking.

Are the products the same as shown on the website?

Due to a craft which uses hand block printing and natural dyes at play, the print positioning and colours might be slightly different than what you see. It is these imperfections that make each piece unique! However, there wouldn’t be a significant difference from the reference image on the website.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, we offer worldwide shipping. If you face any difficulties in placing an order, please get in touch with us.

How do I place an international order?

Add your desired products to the cart and head to check out. Please enter your billing and shipping address after which the shipping rate is calculated. Now, continue to payment via your preferred mode of payment.

I am shopping from outside India, which payment methods can I use?

We accept credit and debit card options such as Amex, Mastercard, Visa and Amazon Pay. We also accept Paypal transactions. For any payment related help reach out to us at hello@ilamra.com

Can I get any of the pieces made specifically for my sizes?

Yes! We offer custom sizing. Please get in touch via hello@ilamra.com and our team will get in touch with you or add a note to your order at the checkout with your sizing information/queries.

Can I request for extra margin on my clothes for future alterations?

All our clothes come with a generous margin of 3-4 inches, giving you to freedom to let in or let out a few inches as required.

How can I place an order?

- Select the quantity and size of the desired product(s) and Click ‘Add to Cart’. - Click on ‘View Cart’ for a careful review of all products in your cart. - Now, head to checkout and enter shipping and billing addresses. Final shipping rates will be calculated here based on shipping location (we offer free shipping Pan-India). - Next, click on continue to payment. Here you can choose from various modes of payment such as PayPal, UPI, Paytm, PhonePe and credit/debit cards. - Once the payment has been confirmed, an invoice via email will be sent to you.
